Life Church Update - November 12, 2020

Dear Life Church Family,

I hope this letter finds you healthy and well! As you know, there are many dealing with COVID-19. At this point, most of us know someone who has been afflicted by this virus. There have also been confirmed cases at Life Church. We continue to pray for each person who's battling this illness.

The board and staff continually discuss how to respond as a church to this pandemic. We are keeping an eye on the numbers and will continue to monitor what is happening; every day holds something new. Our hope and prayer is to see these numbers to go way down. We understand that this pandemic has caused people to have some drastically different opinions, and we take all of them into consideration. In efforts to help slow the spread, we are implementing the following changes:

  • We are excited to announce an early service each Sunday from 8:00-9:00 am beginning November 22. Worship and the Word will be slightly scaled back to fit in the hour time slot. No children’s ministry will be provided. Adding this service will provide smaller crowds to make it easier to socially distance. At this one-hour service, social distancing and masks will be required; this is not a suggestion.
  • For our 10:00 am service, we want to strongly encourage everyone to wear a mask through November and maybe longer. We understand that some will not wear masks due to medical or personal reasons. We will not be policing mask wearing, but encourage it. Children's ministry will be provided during this service.
  • If you are sick or a member of the most COVID-19 susceptible part of our community, please consider joining us online Facebook Live ( for the next couple weeks. We understand that online services aren’t the same as meeting together in person, but we know that God can meet you in your home!

We want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome, regardless of their views of the virus. This has been a tense time, and Satan would love to divide the church . . . but we will not allow him to win! We are putting our faith, hope, and trust in the Lord as we all navigate these crazy times. We love each and every single one of you and truly want God’s best for you. Thank you for your patience and grace as we navigate this difficult time together.

Be blessed,

Pastor Matt Miller & Life Church Board

Life Church Update - July 23, 2020

Dear Life Church family,

The Matt and Nicole Miller family has been confirmed positive for the COVID-19 virus, and it is likely the entire staff and others in the church have been exposed. We had hoped to not have to close the doors on Sunday mornings again, but out of an abundance of caution, we will not hold services in person for at least two Sundays. Online services will continue to be offered for the next two weeks via YouTube, website, or Facebook.

Please be in prayer for the health and safety of those in the church, and for God's healing hands to be on our staff. Your spiritual and physical health is of utmost importance to us.  We encourage you to stay active in the church by attending online services, and press into Jesus during this unprecedented time. Let's be a church that comes through this more unified and stronger then ever!

In His service,

Life Church Governing Board

Life Church Reopening Update - May 22, 2020

To our Life Church family,

We have eagerly anticipated the day that we reopen our live services, and that day is finally upon us!  We have continuously sought the Lord through these difficult times and believe that God is guiding us as we make these important next steps. We will resume our Sunday morning services on June 7, at 10:00 am.

If you are vulnerable, in an at-risk population, or are uncomfortable attending a live service at this time, there is no judgment or expectation for you to attend.  We strongly encourage you to stay connected by attending our online service via Facebook Live each week. The services will also be available on YouTube and our website by Monday morning, and on Facebook Live every Sunday at 10:00 am. We will launch with a special night of prayer from 6:30-7:30 on Wednesday, May 27.  All are welcome!

Our strategy for live gatherings will include social distancing measures listed below to insure a safe and encouraging atmosphere for everyone.  These plans are subject to change as the situation develops.

  • During our worship gatherings, our building will be limited to 50% capacity.
  • If we find that attendance begins to reach that capacity, an 8:30 am service will be added.
  • Everyone is encouraged to socially distance while on the campus.
  • Seating has changed; each row and aisle are 6 feet apart, with expanded seating to the multi-purpose room.
  • The greeting team will greet each guest / family and help them find a seating area that works best for them.  We ask that households stay together.
  • Communion elements will be pre-packaged.
  • Church pens and Bibles will be removed from circulation.  Please bring your own!
  • Bulletins and sermon notes will not be distributed.
  • There will be no coffee or donuts at this time.

Youth and Children’s ministries are closed until further notice. We hope they will reopen soon! Children’s ministry will be included as part of the morning service.  We believe your kids will be spiritually nurtured and enjoy worshiping with you and the church! There will be a mother’s room provided for nursing moms or moms with small babies.

Thank you for your continued prayer and support throughout the last several months.  The world has been uncertain, but there is one thing that has remained strong:  God is on the move, and great things are in store for the Church!

If you have prayer requests, spiritual needs, or simply need encouragement, we are here for you! Please call 319-352-2038 or email us at or

Be Blessed,

Pastors Matt and Nicole Miller

Hello Life Church!

My prayer and hope is that you are hanging tough! I know this process of being separated is not easy and even more difficult for some than others. The reality is we are created for community and doing life together! Thank you for doing your part and keeping the faith; this too shall pass. The Board met last Sunday and came to the conclusion that it is not the time to open the doors for live Sunday services. I would love to tell you we have a definitive date, but the reality is we are looking at the info and the rise in cases in our area on a day by day, week by week basis.

No matter what happens, we will continue our online services indefinitely. They will look different than they do right now, but you will be able to continue to watch services from your home. As we have in the past, I want to make it perfectly clear, we strongly encourage you to make the best decision for you and your family. There is no pressure to rush back when the doors open. Thank you praying for us and with us as we seek God’s wisdom.

Be blessed,

Pastor Matt

Saturday, April 18, 2020:

Hello Life Church!

To say that Nicole and I miss you is a major understatement! We can’t wait to catch up with you and see your new hairstyles! I’ve heard the Moses look is coming back in style! We are praying for you and believing God’s best for you. I hope you have been able to be a part of our online services and have been blessed by the content. We know it’s not ideal, but the reality is we are reaching more people through online than we ever did on a Sunday morning! God is good! Through this time, remember that your spiritual health is SO important! Be sure to take the time to come together online every Sunday morning at 10:00am, and invite someone to watch in their home too. Let us know you are there by leaving a comment or hitting like! Also, we are available if you need prayer or spiritual counsel. Call us at any time at 319-352-2038, the phones are forwarded, so someone should answer or get back with you very quickly.

Finally, we wanted to let you know that we have closed the lobby doors until further notice, because of our governor’s latest update on Covid-19. We check the mail a couple times a day and we are still in the offices.

Love you all and be blessed!

Pastor Matt & Nicole

Saturday, March 21, 2020: Note from Pastor Matt

March 19, 2020

We will communicate on this page, through Facebook, our free mobile app , and all church emails. If you would like to be added to the email list contact us at and we add you to the list.

Each Sunday morning at 10 am, we will offer a message and worship service on our church app, website and Facebook. We encourage ALL of you to join us as at that time. Even though we won’t be in the same building we can and will gather together as a body and worship together!

It is important that in our effort to save our physical bodies from harm we do not neglect the health of our spirit! So stay in love with Jesus!

March 18, 2020: COVID-19 Announcement

Life Church!

I pray this email finds you well! We are in a peculiar time in history. I want you to know this with absolute certainty: GOD IS STILL IN CONTROL! In accordance with Governor Reynolds’ State of Disaster Emergency Plan, mandating no group meetings of 10 or more, Life Church will not be meeting on the church campus until further notice. None of this is a surprise to God. This does NOT mean that there is no church . . . it actually means that the church is expanding!!!  The building is not the church, YOU are the church, and God is forcing us to get outside the walls of the building and be the church inside of our homes and communities! Think how this could further the gospel and the reach of the Kingdom of God if we allow it to. We are excited to see how God will use our church during this un-precedented time. There are many scriptures that bring us hope in what seems like a failing and worsening world. Nicole and I believe whole heartedly that God is already using what the enemy meant for destruction for His good. Why wouldn’t He? Genesis 50:20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people.

The Life Church leadership team has been meeting and praying about how to empower YOU to be the church and how to most effectively bring the hope and salvation message of Jesus to our hurting and scared world. The Church (You) needs to rise up for such a time is this. Satan would love to isolate each of us, and with these mandated new measures, it could be easy for our church to lose community.  But we will not sit by and let that happen! We are implementing a strategic plan to bring our body closer together, rather than further apart. Over the next week we will be communicating that plan with you. Also, each Sunday morning at 10:00, we will offer a message and worship service on our church app, website and Facebook. We encourage ALL of you to join us as at that time. Even though we won’t be in the same building we can and will gather together as a body and worship together!  Depending on the length of this crisis we will be offering more resources.  It is important that in our effort to save our physical bodies from harm we do not neglect the health of our spirit! So stay in love with Jesus!

As with everything else, our financial obligations continue. I want to thank you in advance for your faithfulness in tithes and offerings; whether on-line, through the mail, in person or at our offices. Our offices will remain open during normal office hours, Tuesday-Friday 8:30am–4:30pm. We know that these can be difficult times for many, and we want to be here for you more than ever. If you have prayer requests, concerns or questions please post on our church app or call the office at 319-352-2038.

Be blessed,

Pastor Matt & Nicole, and Life Church Board
